Cleo Turner Tate, 89, of 300 Alfred Road, wife of the late Jack Tate, Sr., passed away Friday, February 3, 2006, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late George W. and Ida Volrath Turner, Mrs. Tate retired from the Elljean Plant of Alice Manufacturing Company after fifty years of service, and was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Jack "Mickey" Tate, Jr. and his wife, Janet, and Rev. George L. Tate, and his wife, Wanda, all of Easley; three brothers, G.W Turner of Belton, Joe Turner of Easley and Furman Turner of Pickens; three sisters, Frances Looper, Sarah Breazeale and Carolyn Bolt, all of Easley; four grandchildren, Rev. Timothy Tate, Laura Anderson, Angie Clarkson and Wendy Massingill; five great grandchildren, Katie Anderson, Haley and Spencer Massingill, Trent Rogers and Jessica Clarkson. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Tate was predeceased by a son, and by two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Paul Stephens, Rev. Timothy Tate and Rev. Tommy Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.

The family is at the home of Rev. and Mrs. George Tate, 790 Cedar Rock Church Road, Easley, SC 29640.
