Clyde Jerry Martin

Clyde Jerry Martin passed away at the home of his son, Joel, whose family was caring for him in his final stages of life. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Central, SC. He was born in Asheboro, NC and raised in Greenville, SC. Jerry was veteran of the US Army and received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Medical College of South Carolina in 1959. Jerry owned and operated the Central Pharmacy in Central, SC from 1969 to 1996. During his extended career, Jerry also worked for Eckerd Drugs, Revco, CVS, Ingles, The Medicine Shoppe, Winn Dixie and Hubbard Young Pharmacies.

Jerry had a life-time passion for fishing and, if you knew him, you knew where he would be every Wednesday and Sunday afternoon, especially when the dogwood trees were blooming. Many hours were spent on the water with his children, grandchildren and close friends. After retirement, Jerry became an accomplished hunter of both white-tailed deer and wild turkeys, placing top-ten white-tail records in 2 Georgia Counties.

Jerry is survived in life by his sons, Mac Martin of Central, SC, Dan Martin (Ann) of Marietta, GA, and Joel Martin (Stephanie) of Andalusia, AL; daughter, Angie Martin Morris (Bill) of Fort Mill, SC; as well 14 grandchildren. Jerry was proceeded in death by his wife of 48 years, Sharon Gilmer Martin, his brother and both parents.

The family wants to thank all the family members and health care providers that assisted Jerry during his later years and prolonged illness. We also would like to thank Stephanie Martin for love, care and peace that she provided Pop during his final days.

A celebration of life will be held for Jerry on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Drive, Central, SC 29630. With visitation immediately following the service.

The Family will be at the home of Mac Martin, 507 Gaines Street in Central on May 29, 2026. Please park in the grass and not on the street.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dementia Society of America or your local Hospice organizations.
