Mr. Cody Morris Miller, II, widower of Matril Rachael Greer Miller died on April 8, 2013 at Agape Hospice in Conway, SC. Mr. Miller was a son of the late George Henry Alexander Miller and Mary Lou Ella Porter Miller Grant, having been born in Easley, SC, on September 3,1922.
Mr. Miller attended Easley area schools and served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley.
Mr. Miller is survived by his only child, Dolores Rachael Miller Pringle, and husband, Charles Gary Pringle of Myrtle Beach. Mr. Miller had made his home with them since the death of his wife in 2003 and had been in declining health since 2001.
Three grandchildren also survive him: Charles Alexander Miller Pringle and wife, Dana Lucas Pringle, of Simpsonville, SC; Elizabeth Greer Pringle Unger and her husband, Julian W. " Jay " Unger of Charleston, and Samuel Morris MacKenzie Pringle and his wife, Ruby Ancess Pringle of Myrtle Beach, SC. Mr. Miller is survived also by his three great-grandchildren: Charles Lucas Pringle and Caroline Kilgore Pringle of Greenville, Mayes Elizabeth Jefferies Unger of Charleston, and one step-great-grandson, Henry James Unger of Columbia and Charleston. He is survived by one sister-in-law, Mrs. Betty H. Greer, four nephews and seven nieces, and a number of great-nephews and great-nieces.
Mr. Miller was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by the following: A granddaughter, Mary Rachael Pringle, four brothers: Paul D., and Jack D. Miller of Easley, George H. Miller, Jr. of Martinez, GA, and Billy C. Grant of Easley; two Sisters: Velvia E. Miller and Gladys Miller Tanner, both of Easley.
Services will be held from the graveside in the churchyard of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Easley, SC, on Wednesday, April 10, at 2 P.M. He will be laid to rest beside his wife of 57 years.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Agape Hospice of Conway, especially to those who cared for Mr., Miller during his recent confinement. We truly appreciate the caring nature of his home care nurse, Carolyn Thomas.
Flowers will be welcome as will a donation to Agape Senior Foundation, 1720 Mill Pond Road, Conway, SC 29527.
The family will receive friends after the service in the churchyard.
The family will be at the home of a grandson at 124 Truett Place, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
