Mr. Coy Cox, 86, husband of the late Lillian Lackey Cox of 103 Bowen Drive, Pickens, formerly of 114 Oaklane Drive, Easley, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Countryside Village in Easley.
Mr. Cox was born on February 17, 1928 in Pickens County to the late Hovie and Minnie Cox. He worked first shift at Saco-Lowell as a machine erector, and was employed with several local gas stations, including Elrod's Exxon and McCall's station during the second shift. He enjoyed eating breakfast every morning at Hardee's or Bojangle's with his many friends, tending to his chickens, and fishing with his friends. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Landmark Baptist Church.
Coy is survived by a son; Glenn Lackey (Marianne) of Greenville; a daughter-in-law; Kathy Lackey-Putnam of Pickens; two grandchildren; Shannon Head (Robert) of Pickens, and Jon Scott Lackey; two step-grandchildren; Cindy Lollis of Simpsonville, and Rusty Bryant of Greenville; and one great-grandchild; Madalynn Katherine Head.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Fred Lackey; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2015 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with the Rev. Dave Price and Rev. Gary Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM.

The family would also like to thank Emeritus at Countryside Village and Lutheran Hospice for their compassion and loving care that they have shown them during this difficult time.
