Mr. Curtis Edward Gibson, 76, of Anderson, husband of Frances Buchanan Gibson, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

Born September 8, 1935 in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Edward and Pauline Raines Gibson. He worked in textiles all his life and was a member of Park Street Baptist Church. Mr. Gibson was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and restore old cars.

In addition to his wife of fifty-four years, he is survived by his sons, Michael Gibson (Sheri) of Pickens and Tim Gibson (Kathy) of Star; sisters, Annell Stegal, Mary Lou Aiken and Carolyn Nix; brothers, Bobby Gibson and Jimmy Gibson; step-mother, Elizabeth Gibson; grandchildren, Brandy, Bryan, Savannah, Tori and Michaela.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Alton Nix and Rev. Gordon Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home.
