Mr. Curtis “Mike” Michael Acuff, 81, of Easley, South Carolina passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, in Pensacola, Florida.
Mike, as he was affectionately known, was born in Greenville, South Carolina, the son of the late John D. Acuff and the late Margaret Page Acuff. He was also preceded in death by his late wife and mother of his sons, Susan Norris Acuff.
Mike served his country with honor during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Shriner and a Mason. He was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church. Mike was a member of Algier Historical Society in Century, FL and a member of The Bad Boys Rod and Custom Car Club in Pensacola, FL. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and being outdoors. He was a master carpenter and was the owner of Acuff Builders. He was also a loving husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. Mike was a hard-working man that took pride in providing for his family. He was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Left to cherish Mike’s wonderful memories are his sons, Michael Todd Acuff (Dawn), and Curtis Sean Acuff (Patti); a brother, David Acuff; two sisters, Marguarite Lanford and Debbie Bishop; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mike was blessed to also be survived by a special companion, Diane Van Leer; a bonus daughter, Mary Shank; and three bonus grandchildren.
The family will receive friends between 1:00 – 2:45 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home – 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642. A memorial service to honor Mike’s life will be held at 3:00 PM following the visitation in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642. Rev. Scott Allen will officiate the service.
Mike’s life has touched so many over the years and his memories will be cherished by all who loved him for years to come.
