Cynthia Renee Smith Hawsey, 44, of Frank St., wife of Derrick Christopher Hawsey, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at her home.
Born December 4, 1970 in Charleston, she was a daughter of Joyce Taylor Smith and the late Edgar Smith. Mrs. Hawsey was a registered nurse who was a professor at Brown-Mackie College. She worked very hard obtaining two master's degrees and was dedicated to teaching.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her sons, David Tovar, Nickolas Godfroy, Stephen Wren and Gavin Hawsey; brothers, Danny Smith, Tim Smith (Loretta) and Jamie Smith (April); sister, Kimberly Fox (Christopher).
Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, January 16, 2015 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
