Cynthia Lynn "Cindy" Simmons
Easley
Mrs. Cynthia Lynn "Cindy" Simmons, 58, of 327 Lula Drive, Easley, loving wife of Jake Raybon Simmons, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at her residence.
Cindy was born in Greenville, SC on February 16, 1957. She was a Pickens County resident her whole life, and graduated from Pickens High School. Cindy worked in her earlier years at Alice Manufacturing as a weaver, and then became a very successful businesswoman, selling HODA and then Mary Kay. In 1980, she traveled to Dallas, TX for a convention and found out that she had missed the top sales in the nation for HODA by only $10.00, of which she realized she had given that much away ten times over. She loved the Clemson Tigers, her family, fishing, camping, and going to the beach.
In addition to her husband of 31 years, Cindy is survived by her two adopted sons; Jack Valetti of Easley; and Carl Holliday of Greenville; her adopted daughter; Allison Miller of Virginia; her mother and father-in-law; Mack and Alma Simmons of Balsam Grove, NC; and three sisters; Phyllis Carls and her husband Mike, of Easley; Melissa Garrett of Easley; and Tracy Fowler and her husband James, of Greenville. Cindy is also survived by two sisters-in-law; Nenia Grooms and her husband Edgar; and April Judd and her husband Glenn, both of Balsam Grove, NC; a special aunt; Jean Galloway of Easley; a special uncle; Dennis Wilson of Seneca; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
