Delos Benjamin "Ben" Brown, husband of Mary Ellen Hart Brown, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Oconee Memorial Hospital. He was 77 years of age at the time of his sudden death.

Born in Mansfield, MA, he was a son of the late Delos Nelson and Alice Lillian Roberts Brown. He was a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and worked for Corning Glass Works, Metal Bellows, and retired from Covidien (Kendall) after 22 years of service. He was a founding member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Norfolk, MA and most recently a member of First Baptist Church of Clemson. Ben was a Bible scholar and had a passion for sharing his vast research on Creationism and Prophesies with his family and fellow Sunday school members. For over 50 years Ben was an avid O-scale Model Railroader and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and skill with others all over the world. Ben also enjoyed building furniture, canoes, and small boats.

Ben was a giver in every sense of the word as evidenced by his foundation of strong beliefs in Christian faith, family and all life had to offer. He enriched the lives of everyone he knew through his kind, nonjudgmental and loving heart. Ben loved unconditionally and leaves a legacy to his children and grandchildren of Christian faith, love, gentleness and patience.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons Delos Benjamin Brown, Jr. of Gardner, MA and Bradford Allen (Sephida) Brown of Palmdale, CA; daughters, Kimberly Ann (Michael) Solt of Metamora, MI and Suzanne Ellen (William) Swedberg of Clemson, SC; 12 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

The memorial service will be 2 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Clemson with Rev. Dr. Rusty Brock officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center.
