Mrs. Daisy Newby Freeman, 98, wife of the late James Eugene Freeman, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center.
Born in McMenville, TN, a daughter of the late Charles and Lula Weaver Newby, Mrs. Freeman retired from textiles and was a member of Powdersville First Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Charles Meeks (Zelma) of Easley; five grandchildren, Linda Newby (Raliegh), Carol Rose (Bill), Sandra Jordan (Jim), Cathey Rampey (Mark), and Jim Browder (Kaye); eight great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Freeman was predeceased by a daughter, Estelle Wynne; one brother, four sisters, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. John Revis officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
