Daisy Goodwin Parrish, 87, of Easley, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Cascades at Verdae.
Born and reared in Olar, S.C., Mrs. Parrish was a daughter of the late Robert F. and Zelma Rizer Goodwin. The Valedictorian of her high school class, she attended Columbia College.
Daisy's friendly personality, laughter, style and grace epitomized a Southern lady, and she was devoted to raising her three children. She was a member of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church in Columbia and she was an avid Gamecock fan. She was married to the late Sydney F. McDaniel, Jr. and the late Jack S. Parrish.
She is survived by her children, Sydney F. McDaniel, III (Martha) of Spartanburg, Robert G. McDaniel (Tracy) of Easley, and Kimberly P. Kenney (Mike) of Columbia; a sister, Mary G. Davis of North Charleston; her grandchildren, Courtney M. Farfour and Sydney M. Jamison, both of Raleigh, N.C., Brittany M. McCall, of Liberty, Kendall McDaniel and Taylor McDaniel, both of Easley, Parker Kenney and Caroline Kenney, both of Columbia; three great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild is due within a few days.
Also surviving are her step-children, Jack S. Parrish, Jr., Martin O. Parrish, Phillip M. Parrish and Jeannie Parrish Freeman; six step-grandchildren; Frances Parrish, Lauren Parrish, Ashley Parrish, Katie Freeman, Robin Freeman, and Molly Freeman; and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the home of a son, Bob McDaniel, 107 Windamere Road; Easley, SC 29640.
The family would like to thank the staff of "The Willows" in Easley for their gracious care and support over the last few years, where memorials may be made to 105 Willow Place; Easley, SC 29640.
