Dale L. Massey

Dale Lynn Massey, 73, passed surrounded by his loving family Friday, November 12, 2021. He was born in Salisbury, NC January 18, 1948, the son of Elon F. Massey and Sally W. Massey.

Dale was a very dedicated man who served our country proudly in the Vietnam War, received numerous medals including three Bronze Service Stars and the Oak Leaf Cluster. Upon returning he received a bachelor's degree in Business and minor in Archaeology from Catawba College in 1974. He was committed to his family, faith, and love of the outdoors. His animals were his passion, especially the hours spent on the back of his horses.

Dale is survived by his wife, Gwen Massey of Central; his son, Hunter Massey (Amanda) and grandson McCoy; son, Jeffery Johns (Courtney) and grandchildren, Emmerie, Ellis, and Elon; daughter, Diana Bishop (David) and grandchildren Juliana, Landon, and Mason. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Gary Massey and sister Karen Massey.

Funeral services will be 5:00 PM Wednesday, November 17th at Hope Fellowship Church, 213 Brown Road, Anderson, SC. Interment will be at Trading Ford Baptist Church in Salisbury, NC Saturday, November 20th at 11:30 AM. The family will receive friends 4:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service.
