Daniel Ray Carter, 66, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Foothills Presbyterian Community.
Born on February 18, 1945 in Oregon, Mr. Carter was the son of Dorothy Bennett Carter and the late Malcolm Carter. He graduated from Fork Union Military Academy and North Greenville Junior College. Mr. Carter was a US Navy veteran, was the owner of C&D Auto Body Works and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Dawn Carter of Chapel Hill, NC; a son, Daniel Ray Carter Jr. of Cary, NC; sister, Terry Carter Morgan of Easley; and the mother of his children, Carolyn Runyan Wilberscheid of Washington, NC.
In addition to his father, Mr. Carter was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2011 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Private burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
