Daphne Pullen Sweeny , 95, of Greenville, formerly of Seneca, died Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Rolling Green Village.

Born in London, England, Mrs. Sweeny was a homemaker and a former Sunday School teacher in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. She was a member of the Ascension
Episcopal Church in Seneca and also attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenville. She was active in the community and received the Sertoman of the Year award for her volunteer work with Foothills Hospice and Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are three sons, Charles Edward Sweeny, Jr. of Wilmington NC, Peter Ross Sweeny of Greenville, and Christopher Fultz Sweeny of Stamford, CT; six grandchildren, Edward Sweeny of Greenville, Christie Sweeny Gravely of Easley, David Sweeny of Greenville, Sarah Sweeny of Stamford, CT, Melene Sexton of Springfield, VA and Robin Coury of Raleigh, NC; eight great-grandchildren, Conner, Maclaine, and Ford Sweeny; Leighton and Taylor Gravely; Jordan, Cooper and Addie Sweeny.

Mrs. Sweeny was predeceased by her husband, Charles Edward Sweeny; and a grandson, Christopher Fultz Sweeny, Jr.

The Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, January 25, 2010, at Rolling Green Village in the main activity room with the Reverend Christie Sweeny
Gravely officiating. A Committal service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, January 25, 2010, at the Ascension Episcopal Church Memorial Garden.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Ascension Episcopal Church, 214 Northampton Road, Seneca, SC 29672 or Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2310 Augusta St., Greenville, SC 29605.

The family is at the home of Peter Sweeny, 407 Wembley Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
