David AustinCentral, SCDavid Austin, 72, of Central died suddenly, Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Central.Born in Central, he was a son of the late Stacey Austin and Step-father, Ed Hicks.  David was a graduate of Clearview High School, was a long time plasterer with Central Concrete and Plaster Company.  Since his retirement, David could always be seen hanging out, working and piddling with his good friend, John Head.  He enjoyed watching and talking about sports.He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Rev. Robert Hamilton, Sr., Thirso Hamilton and Clinton Austin; sister, Betty Anne Austin; step-brother, Eddie Hicks; and step-sister, Mary Lee Cage.He is survived by sisters-in-law, Zinnie Mae Hamilton, Shirley Hamilton and Carolyn Hicks as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Moss officiating.  Burial will follow in New Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Central.The family will greet friends from 10 to 10:45 AM, Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or at the funeral home.
