David "Knocker" Clardy

David Ray "Knocker" Clardy, 57, of Liberty, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 11, 2009, at his home after an extended illness.
Born and raised in Liberty, Mr. Clardy was one of nine children born to the late Charlie Harrison and Nannie Mae Swords Clardy. David touched the lives of many with his smile and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Surviving are his beloved daughter, Denni Clardy Alexander and her husband, Nic, of Easley; a treasured grandson, Brody Alexander; four brothers, J.P. "Doodle Bug" Clardy, Walter "Buddy" Clardy, and Robert "Pee Wee" Clardy, all of Liberty and Charles Clardy of Easley. In addition to his parents, Mr. Clardy was predeceased by three brothers, William "Dink" Clardy, Cecil Clardy, and Paul Clardy; and an infant sister.
David is also survived by his wife, Debbie Bryant Clardy, caring step-daughters, Jodi Whitfield of Easley and Dena Rowlan of Pickens. He was known as "Pops" to Presli, Chali, Alexis, and Chandler.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Liberty Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
