David C. "Jimmy" Ellison, Jr.
Piedmont, SC
David "Jimmy" Ellison Jr., 88, of Piedmont, husband of the late Sylvia "Joyce" Howard Ellison, passed away October 3, 2020.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late David Crockett Ellison, Sr. and Botie Belle Norris Ellison. He was a business man, having owned F & S Textile Repair Parts, Inc. for thirty years before retiring. He was a past President and active member of CORSA SC, enjoyed square dancing with his wife and working with his hands. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church for 60+ years.
He is survived by his son, Anthony "Tony" Lynn Ellison (Patti) of Pelzer; daughter, Teresa E. Foster (Greg) of Liberty; son, David "Barry" Ellison (Patty) of Piedmont; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He will also be sorely missed by his lifelong Corvair friends and community.
Along with his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his brothers and sisters and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens. He will lie-in-state Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for anyone wishing to pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society at 113 Mills Ave, Greenville, SC 29605, Corvair Preservation Foundation at P.O. Box 68, Maple Plain, Minnesota 55359, or the Salem United Methodist Church Food Pantry at 2700 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29611.
