David Ford

David Richie Ford, 69, of Clemson died Monday, February 6th after declining health for several years. David was born July 22, 1947 in Gastonia, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ford Jr. and Viola Ford of Clemson, and a nephew, Jeremy Brooks of Pickens. David worked for many years as a salesman in the textile industry, including tenures with Ashworth Brothers and with Louis P. Batson Co of Greenville. Prior, David served in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve. He graduated from Daniel High School and attended the University of Georgia and Anderson College. David will be remembered by many family and friends as outgoing, willing to help a neighbor, and his love of fishing.
Survivors include his son, Richie Ford (Rebecca) of New Braunfels, TX, daughter Kelly Turner of Loganville, GA and their mother Shirley Ford of Morganton, GA. Grandchildren are Allison, Matthew, Andrew Ford, and Lauren Turner. Also surviving are a brother John M. Ford III (Ann) of Charleston. Sisters, Catherine McInnis (Tom) of Clemson, and Martha Brooks of Liberty. Also surviving many nieces and nephews, Christy Ford Allen (Jeff), Summer Ford Conrad (Cooper) of Charleston. William Welsh Jr. of Clemson, and Jacob Brooks of Liberty.
A memorial visitation will be held at Ft. Hill Presbyterian Church ,101 Edgewood Avenue in Clemson from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday, February 9th. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Old Stone Church Cemetery.
