David Hamilton Clemson
David Marshall Hamilton, 44, of 205 Strawberry Lane, died June 25, 2007, at his home. He was a native of Clemson, SC, and the son of Mary Bell Chou.
David graduated from Clemson University with degrees in microbiology and modern languages. He was a professor in the college's language department.
He was active in city government, serving as Chair of the Planning Commission, Chair of the Housing Commission of Comprehensive Planning 2014, and Chair of the Police Advisory Board. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
David dealt with a serious illness gracefully and without complaint for many years. He was a kind, brave gentleman to the end, and he will be remembered for his love of life, people, Clemson, and all things German.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 1, 2007, at 12:30pm at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 120 Wall Street, 19th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
