David D. Marchbanks, Jr.

David "Buddy" Dean Marchbanks, Jr., 69, of 215 Poinsettia Drive, died Tuesday December 29, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital - Downtown.
Mr. Marchbanks was born in Easley, a son of the late David Dean Marchbanks, Sr and Helen Tillson Marchbanks. He was a veteran and retired as a CW4 from the U.S. Army. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, was a 32nd degree Mason with the Bates Lodge and a Shriner for over forty years. Buddy enjoyed Life and often said the greatest things in his life were fishing at the Pond House, eating Nancy's cooking, Clemson football and being Granddaddy to "Bella Rae".
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Walker Marchbanks, of the home ; a son, David Dean Marchbanks, III, of Iva, SC ; a daughter Jennifer Marchbanks Sandlin and her husband, Jeff, of Mooresville, NC ; step-mother, Edna Price Marchbanks, of Easley ; a step-brother, Tommy Clayton and his wife, Mercy, of Easley ; a step-sister, Trena Clayton Riska, of Keysville, Georgia and his granddaughter, Isabella Rae Sandlin. His extended family including the Owens, Marchbanks and Walker families and many dear friends were of great importance to him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chad Eric Marchbanks.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. Burial with full military honors and also Masonic Rites will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Members of the Bates Masonic Lodge are asked to serve as Honorary Escort for the service.
