David McElveen, 69, of Pendleton, husband of Lisa Bensch McElveen died unexpectedly Sunday, March 27, 2022. He was born June 9, 1952, in Washington, D.C., the son of Jackson V. and Ethel Ellenburg McElveen.
David attended Clemson University after graduating from D.W. Daniel High School, class of 1971. He faithfully served his country in the US Navy for six years, after which he was an electrician, specializing in industrial construction. He later became a PLC technician for Milliken and Company. He enjoyed working on cars, going to the beach, and he adored his dogs, but above all he loved his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Lisa; son, Russell McElveen; daughters, Regina McElveen and Emily McElveen; grandson, Blain Willimon; and two sisters, Rosemary Rhinehardt and Debbie Sikkema and her husband Dwight. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Jackson McElveen.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, April 5th at the shelter at MJ “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC 29621.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 4th from 5:30-7:00PM at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Rd., Central.
Those who wish to remember David in a special way may, in lieu of flowers consider a memorial donation to the Anderson County Humane Society, 407 Pearman Dairy Rd. Anderson, SC , 29625.
