Mr. David Ray Rhodes, 79, husband of Jean Hann Rhodes, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018.
Born in Bath, SC, the son of the late William Farmer CSM (Ret.) and the late Alice Coker,
Mr. Rhodes was retired from management with Associate's Financial Services in Greenville. He graduated from Langley Bath Clearwater (LBC) High School in Bath, SC where he played football and baseball. He attended The University of South Carolina and was a lifelong Gamecock fan. He was a member of the Arnold Air Society, AFROTC and the Maxey Brotherhood and held leadership positions while a member of the Cayce-West Columbia Jaycees. He also was a Mason and Hejaz Shriner. Mr. Rhodes loved golfing, reading, but most of all, he loved his wife and three daughters.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 34 years, are daughters, Gwen Rhodes (Blane Johnson), Cathy Rhodes Wiggs, both of Columbia, and Frankie Rhodes (Derek Courtney) of Simpsonville; seven grandchildren, Robert E. Wheeler, IV, Jessica L. Ruff, Allison D. Wiggs, William D. Laffin, Andrew B. Laffin, Breanna L. Johnson and Alexander Ryan Johnson; and three great-grandchildren, Makenna Wheeler, Sophia Wheeler and Adilynn Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, 305 W. Main Street, Easley, SC 29640.
