David William Richwine, age 96 yrs, passed away on March 10, 2011 of natural causes.

Mr. Richwine was born in Rochelle, Illinois, the son of David B. Richwine and Edyth Louise Wallace Richwine. He was a retired International Airline Captain (TWA) and a Commander in the U.S. NAVY Reserve having served in the South Pacific during WW II. He was past President of the TWA Credit Union, former
Director of the Air Line Pilots Association, Mid American Truck Line, and the Pilot Land Development Co. He also served as past President of the TWA Active Retired Pilots Association (TARPA), co-founder of the Independent Republican Club of
Kansas, Scoutmaster and Elder in the Presbyterian Church, USA and Chairman of the Indian Rocks Special Fire Control District of Florida. He was a member of the Fort Hill Presbyterian Church USA of Clemson, SC, the Quiet
Birdmen, the U.S. Naval Aviation Museum Foundation and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He was a former member of the Clemson Downs Property Owners
Association Board of Directors. Among the activities he thoroughly enjoyed was
Ballroom Dancing. He and his wife, Vi, co-founded the Foothills Dance Society, a local Clemson ballroom dancing club that is still in existence.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Violet Cohoon Richwine of the home; two sons, MajGen David A. Richwine, USMC (Ret) of Burke, Virginia, and Michael W.
Richwine of Shawnee, Kansas; two daughters, Patricia (Isa) L. Herold of Anderson, SC, and Karen E. Donaldson of Anderson, SC; and three granddaughters Heather L. Richwine of Arlington, VA, Carrie A. Richwine of Greater Kansas City, and Chloe Donaldson of Eagle Springs, NC.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in the Corley Center at Clemson Downs in Clemson, SC.

The family requests no flowers. In
lieu thereof, contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Foothills Foundation, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672 or to the Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, 399
College Ave. Clemson, SC 29631.
