David Harold Rowland

David Harold Rowland, beloved husband of Juanita Rowland for 41 years, passed away on July 5, 2026, at the age of 77.

David was the son of the late Harold and Annie Rowland. Born and raised in Central, South Carolina, he was a graduate of Clemson University and was involved with ROTC and the United States Army.

David’s career spanned more than 40 years with Milliken, where he held several leadership roles, including Human Resources Manager at Lockhart Mills in Union, South Carolina, and Plant Manager at both Pendleton Finishing in Pendleton, South Carolina, and Avalon in Toccoa, Georgia. He later rose to Director of Milliken Performance Solutions at the company’s corporate headquarters in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he worked closely with Roger Milliken. His career allowed him to travel throughout the United States and internationally, including to Japan and Europe. Following his initial retirement from Milliken, David became a consultant with ConAgra Foods in Nebraska, where he continued working until his final retirement.

Outside of his professional life, David was a devoted Bible scholar and faithfully served in various church ministries. He taught Sunday School at Harvest Baptist Church in Anderson, South Carolina, and later served as both Superintendent and Sunday School teacher for young married couples at Temple Baptist Church in Anderson. He most recently attended Cannon Memorial Baptist Church in Central, South Carolina, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and was active in the Men’s Ministry. David also played an instrumental role on the church Building Committee, helping oversee current renovations and additions to the church.

After retiring from corporate life, David returned to Central, where he became an avid farmer. Blessed with a green thumb, he cultivated flowers, produce, and other agricultural crops. Known for his caring and generous heart, he often shared the fruits of his labor with the local community.

In addition to his wife, Juanita, David is survived by his son, Bryan Rowland and his wife, Karen, and their children, Kelsie Rowland and Brendan Rowland; his daughter, Graceann Reed, and her daughter, Ashton Campbell and her husband, Hayden; and his stepdaughter, Teresa Dunn, and her children, Heather Dunn and Lee Dunn. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, George Weatherford and Maison Allred; his brothers, John Rowland and his wife, Carolyn, Cecil Rowland and his wife, Martha, and Tom Rowland and his wife, Susan; his sister, Ann Hamlin; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Clint Hamlin.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to Cannon Memorial Baptist Church in Central, South Carolina.

Visitation will be held at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:20 PM. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel starting at 2:30 PM. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
