David Newton Turner, 63, of 110 Fox Chase Road, husband of the late Kathy Waldrop Turner, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Furman Turner and the late Evalea Ellenburg Howard, Mr. Turner graduated from Daniel High School in 1969 and received an associate degree in Textile Management from Tri-County Tech. He retired from the Liberty Plant of Greenwood Mills and was a member of Enon Baptist Church. Mr. Turner was a Vietnam veteran having served with the US Marines.
Surviving are a son, Ricky David Turner (Tonia) of Liberty; a daughter, Tabitha Lee Hawkins (Jacob) of Central; a brother, Larry Turner of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Kathy Morton and Patricia Young both of Easley; and five grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Turner was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Wilson and Robert Wilson
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Greenlawn Memorial park.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
