Dean Mayfield Looper, 92, of Freeman Bridge Road, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Greenville County, a daughter of the late Wix Clinton and Snowey Williams Mayfield, Mrs. Looper retired from J.P. Stevens Company and was an active member of Nine Forks Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Lake Walter Looper; a son, James W. Looper (Rebecca) of Dacusville; a daughter, Martha Wood (Jimmy) of Dacusville; four grandchildren, Angie Wood Dickard (David), Jamie Wood, Michael Looper (Kayce) and Susan Looper Cooper (Allen); and five great-grandchildren, Luke Dickard, Emma and Sarah Cooper, and Ruth and Lake Looper. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Looper was predeceased by brothers, Earl Mayfield, Lloyd Mayfield, Shirley Mayfield and Will Tom Mayfield and by sisters, Helen Turner and Faye Woods.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Nine Forks Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Wright and Rev. Rick Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday and will be placed in the church at 2:00 PM Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to the Youth and Children�??s Building Fund of Nine Forks Baptist Church, 3207 Earls Bridge Road, Easley, SC 29640.
The family is at the home of James and Rebecca Looper, 1115 Pace Bridge Road, Easley, SC 29640.
