Deanna Stephenson Gross, 74, formerly of Fort Dodge, IA, and wife of the late Doug Gross, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
Born in Rinard, IA, she was the daughter of the late Keith and Patricia Lyons Stephenson.
Her family moved from Rinard to Fort Dodge where she was educated in the Fort Dodge Catholic Schools, graduating from St. Edmond in 1965. In 1969 she married Doug and together they built a life. Deanna later went back to school to get a BA in accounting from Buena Vista University.
Throughout the years she had many occupations including owning her own ceramic shop, running the kitchen of her daughter's bakery & deli, and managing many offices. In her free time, she canned vegetables from her garden, collected cookbooks and made recipes from a few of them, created handmade cards, and spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Michelle Keeton (Chris) of Easley, SC and Eric Gross (Nikki) of Liverpool. NY; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Denise Stephenson of Oceanside, CA; and a brother, Phillip Stephenson of Fort Dodge, IA.
A memorial service to celebrate Deanna's life will be held at a later date in Iowa.
