Debbie Ternese Stewart, 56, of Easley, South Carolina, loving wife of Ricky A. Stewart, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Born on May 6, 1970, in Sylva, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Phillip “Briss” and Diane Owen. A proud graduate of Easley High School's class of 1988, Debbie’s journey was one marked by dedication and selflessness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who embodied the true meaning of family. Devoted beyond measure, she lovingly cared for both her parents and her mother-in-law through their final days, always putting their needs before her own. This deep well of compassion was only matched by her unwavering faith, which stood as the cornerstone of her life. Debbie was a devoted member of Galilee Baptist Church, where her spirit shone brightly in fellowship and worship. Her home was often filled with laughter, a testament to her great sense of humor and her gift for bringing joy to every gathering. Debbie delighted in spoiling her grandchildren, enchanting them with her warmth and attention. She was an avid card player, known for always having a trick up her sleeve and a sparkle in her eye, captivating friends and family with her cleverness and friendly competitiveness. Beyond her family and faith, Debbie had many passions that brought beauty and light to her world. Her love of thrifting reflected her unique eye for finding treasures, while her skillful decorating turned her house into a warm, welcoming sanctuary. An incredible artist, she poured her heart into her work, creating pieces that mirrored the depth of her soul and the creativity that flourished within her.

In addition to her husband of 38 years, Debbie is survived by three children, Justin Stewart, Russell Stewart (Savannah), and Kayla Colangelo (Anthony); a brother, Eric A. Owen; a sister, Loretta Rhodes (Tony); and four grandchildren, C.J. Stewart, Chappell Stewart, Danni Stewart, and Adrianna Colangelo.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Galilee Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the church prior to the service.
