Deborah Sims Gerwe, affectionately known as "Debbie", was a remarkable woman who graced the world with her presence during her time on Earth. Born on April 29th, 1948, in Okinawa, Japan, Debbie brought joy and happiness to all those around her. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Debbie's professional journey led her to become a respected Realtor in the upstate area for many years. Her expertise and dedication made a lasting impact on the community she served. Debbie's passion for her career was evident in every transaction she handled, always going above and beyond for her clients.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Debbie will be remembered most for her role as a mother. Her two boys held a special place in her heart, and they were truly the center of her world. Debbie's unconditional love for Joshua Edward Gerwe and Stephen William Gerwe knew no bounds. She showered them with affection and guided them with wisdom throughout their lives. Her devotion to motherhood was truly unparalleled.

Debbie possessed a warm and engaging personality that endeared her to everyone she met. She had an infectious laugh that could light up any room. Known for her sociability and friendliness, Debbie cherished spending time with loved ones and making lasting connections. One of her greatest joys was dancing, which allowed her to express herself freely and bring joy to those who watched.

In addition to being a loving mother and successful Realtor, Debbie was actively involved in making a difference within her community. For many years, she dedicated herself to the Anderson County Disability and Special Needs Board, working tirelessly to advocate for those who needed support. Her genuine care for others shone through in all of her endeavors.

Debbie's life was also marked by her strong political convictions. She proudly aligned herself with the American Women's Republican Party and passionately supported their values. Furthermore, she was an active member of the Palmetto Ski Club.

Debbie Sims Gerwe's journey came to a close on August 29th, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Edward Gerwe as well as her father, William Ferrell Sims Sr., and mother Dorothy Elizabeth Sims.

Although our hearts ache with grief over the loss of such an incredible woman, let us remember Debbie for the beautiful memories she gifted us. Her spirit will live on through the love she shared with her family and friends.

To Joshua Edward Gerwe and Stephen William Gerwe, know that your mother's love will be with you always. She bestowed upon you the strength to overcome life's challenges and encouraged you to reach for the stars. Honor her memory by embracing life with the same zest and determination she exhibited throughout her journey.

Deborah Sims Gerwe was a beacon of light in our lives, bringing warmth, compassion, and laughter wherever she went. Her infectious spirit touched countless hearts and will forever be remembered.
