Deborah Lee "Debbie" Martin

Deborah (Debbie) Lee Martin, the daughter of Gwendolyn Bagwell Martin and the late J. Leland Martin, Sr., passed away on September 28, 2021 in Six Mile, South Carolina at Pruitt Health at the age of 62 years old. Debbie was residing at Pruitt Health under hospice care for three months leading up to her passing.
Born in Albany, Georgia on October 6, 1958, Debbie was the sister of Phyllis Martin Lawless (Brian) of Seneca and Jimmie L. Martin Jr. (Jessica) of Liberty, as well as the aunt of Jimmie Leland Martin, III, Tanner J. Stone, Willis J. Martin, Dean R. Framke, and Aden A. Martin.
Debbie was the first born to Leland and Gwen and was a bright eyed, intelligent woman. As a 1976 graduate of D.W. Daniel High School, Debbie went on to enroll at Anderson College where she excelled until moving back home with her family. Debbie enjoyed playing the piano, reading, singing in the church choir as a teen, picking on her little brother, and telling tall tales.
The family will not be receiving friends and will have a closed, private graveside service at Memory Gardens on Thursday, September 30th, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Debbie's name to the Autism Research Institute, www.autism.org.
