Pauline Bishop Horny, 61, of Easley, was a remarkable woman who brought light and laughter into the lives of everyone she encountered. She passed away on January 11th, 2024. Throughout her life, Pauline embraced every opportunity to nurture and support others, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her.
A true embodiment of maternal love, Pauline excelled in her role as a mother figure to everyone around her. Whether it was providing comfort during times of difficulty or cheering on loved ones' accomplishments, she showed unwavering support and understanding. Her children and those close to her regarded Pauline as not only their rock but also their guiding light. Pauline was always a constant source of love, no matter what was going on in the family.
Pauline's vibrant personality radiated sunshine wherever she went. Always wearing a warm smile on her face, she had an infectious giggle that could brighten even the darkest of days. Her unique sense of humor was legendary, often catching those around her off guard with sidewinder comments that had them erupting in laughter at unexpected moments. She had a knack for finding joy in life's simplest pleasures and approached every day with a lighthearted spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Generosity defined Pauline's character; she had a heart full of love and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her compassion and selflessness were evident through acts of kindness that improved the lives of others. An avid crafter, Pauline poured her creativity into various projects. Her lovingly crafted creations were often given away as heartfelt gifts, spreading joy to those lucky enough to receive them.
Pauline's career at Gastroenterology Associates was more than just a job; it was a source of joy and fulfillment. She cherished the friendships she made there, appreciating the fellowship and shared purpose that came with working alongside her colleagues. Her dedication to her work and compassionate nature made her an invaluable member of the team.
Among her proudest accomplishments in life was the family she built with her beloved husband, Rusty. The love they shared was a testament to their enduring bond, which spanned an incredible 44 years. Pauline adored her daughters and cherished every moment spent together as a family. Welcoming grandchildren into her life brought immense joy, and Pauline embraced the role of doting grandparent with open arms.
Pauline is survived by her loving husband, Russell Benjamin Horny, her daughters Brenda Lee Bradley and Elizabeth Ann Torres (Michael), as well as her grandchildren: Jacob Kyle Cunningham, Anna Carlee Epps, Lukas Michael Torres, and Mason Brooks Torres. She also leaves behind her siblings, James Grady Bishop and Theresa Simmons.
Pauline was predeceased by her parents, James and Mary Bishop.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Pauline Bishop Horny, we invite friends and family to join us at the Chapel of Reflections Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley, South Carolina. The visitation will take place on January 14th, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM. This will be followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at the same location, with burial to follow immediately afterward in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Pauline's honor to the Special Olympics of South Carolina, which serves the Easley district at 109 Oak Park Drive, Irmo, SC 29063.
