Dennis James Grafton, 66, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Chicago, IL, a son of the late Ercel and Kathleen Sweeney Grafton, Dennis was a graduate of Dyer Central High School, attended Purdue University and retired with the US Postal Service. He attended St. Luke's Catholic Church and was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the US Army. Dennis loved working with wood and fishing, and he volunteered at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Linda "Lynn" League Grafton; four daughters, Kristy G. Goldberg (Dan), Beth L. Helm (Patrick), Lisa L. Bell, and Nadine L. Gwinn (Bill); a brother, Mark Grafton of Illinois; grandchildren, Olivia Goldberg, Michael Childers, Treigh and Trevor Lesley, and Jimmy and Amelia Helm; and great-grandchildren, Emma Rae and Landen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
Private graveside services will be held Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
