DESSIE L. MULLIKIN,
Pendleton
Dessie Link Mullikin, 97, widow of Verner Lee Mullikin, died Friday, April 17, 2009 in Raleigh, NC at the home of her daughter. She was born in Pendleton on February 25, 1912, the daughter of the late John F. and Sally White Link. She was a graduate of Pendleton High School and was the oldest member of Six and Twenty Baptist Church. She retired from Anderson County School District 4 food services.
She is survived by daughter Jane Mullikin of Raleigh, NC; son Jerry Mullikin of Pendleton; grandchildren, Link Thrower, Michael Thrower, Beth Sohba, Jenifer Massingill, all of Raleigh, NC; Mackenzie and Melanie Mullikin of Pendleton; great grandchildren, Brittnay Sohba, Nathaniel, Ryan, and Owen Massingill and Karr Thrower all of Raleigh, NC. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Leora Smith and Montez Ellison and brothers; John, Louis, Vernon, Johnson, Ray and Hoyt Link.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00am at Six and Twenty Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Willie Honea with burial to follow at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday 7-9pm and will be placed in the church at 10am Monday. The family is at the home of son Jerry Mullikin, 2301 Six and Twenty Road, Pendleton, SC 29670.
