Dewey Nolen Ellis, Sr., 83, husband of Delores Nichols Ellis, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Struthers, OH to the late Paul and Stella Lorraine Bailey Ellis, Dewey settled in Greenville after serving in the U.S. Army. He worked for E&L Appliance for a long time, until opening his own appliance service business. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working with computers.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Dewey Ellis, Jr. (Sharon) of Pickens, David Ellis, of Atlanta, Steve Gibson of Atlanta, and Tim Gibson (Angie) of Marietta; a daughter, Susan Ashley (Bill) of Greenville; one brother and two sisters; three grandchildren, TJ Gibson, Stephanie Dorriety and Katie Gibson; and one special little buddy, Parker Papriska.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers; and two sisters.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
The family is at the home.
