Dewey Leonard Haynes

Mr. Dewey Leonard Haynes, 79, husband of the late Barbara Spearman Haynes, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Paul and Pearl Wilson Robinson Haynes. Mr. Haynes was employed with Saco-Lowell for many years, later retired from Judson Mills and was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist church where he served as deacon and greeter. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Haynes is survived by a son, Leonard "Len" Eugene Haynes of Alexandria, VA; a daughter, Sonji Dawn Phillips (Scott) of Greenville; two grandchildren, Chelsey Sabol (Benjamin) and Seth Phillips (Candice); and three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Olivia, and Ava Sabol. He was one of nine siblings.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Jones Avenue Baptist Church with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Sunday at the church, prior to the service.
