Dewey H. Jackson

Dewey Hudson Jackson, 89, of 202 Grigsby Avenue, died Monday, October 6, 2008, at his home.
Born in Grayson County, KY, a son of the late Samuel Lonzo and Ida Hudson Jackson, Mr. Jackson retired as an electrical engineer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Easley, where he was in the Volunteers In Missions, and was also a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Jackson was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Army Air Force.
Surviving are his wife, Janette Fuhrman Jackson of the home; three sons, Greg Jackson of Liberty, Jeff Jackson and wife, Kim, and Mark Jackson, all of Dacusville; a daughter, Jill Jackson Ledford and husband, Ed, of Folly Beach; two grandchildren, Porter Ledford and wife, LeAnne, of Atlanta, and Elizabeth Brady and husband, Dennis, of Charleston and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was predeceased by eleven brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Easley, with Rev. Jim Correll and Rev. Kim Cannon officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund or Missions Fund of First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 582, Easley, SC 29641 or to the Anderson District VIM, c/o Tonita Thompson, 2001 Driftwood Way, Anderson, SC 29625.
