Diane Gamberg Myers, 79, of Easley, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at her home.
Born in Flandreau, South Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Dale A. and Kathrine Thompson Herrick. Diane was married to Marvin Charles Gamberg until his death in 1981 and then married Earnest Ralph Myers until his death in 2020. Diane was a loving mother and grandmother, known for her selfless nature and generous spirit. Diane graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and went on to have a successful career in the Commercial Insurance industry before retiring from Arthur J. Gallagher Insurance Company in Greenville, South Carolina in 2009. Her greatest joy in life came from being a dedicated mother to her two children, whom she raised single-handedly after the passing of her first husband. Family always came first for Diane, and she made sure to instill values of compassion and kindness in her children. In addition to her family responsibilities, she found time to give back to her community by volunteering with Pickens County Meals on Wheels. In her younger years, Diane enjoyed spending time at the lake, where she cherished moments fishing and camping with her loved ones. She had a talent for sewing and crocheting and often used these skills to create items for those in need.
Diane is survived by her two children, Robert Gamberg (Susan) and Deborah Hoover (Robbie); two step-daughters, Tracy Harrington (Rodney), and Jennifer Rippy; a brother, David Herrick (Gwen); eight grandchildren, Tiffany Hoover, Tyler Hoover, Libby Gamberg, Will Gamberg, Madison Lind, Noah Shaw, Carmen Sanford (Derick), and Bradley Harrington; a special friend, Betsy Cooper; and one great-grandchild on the way.
