Mr. Donald Nelson Fox, 72, husband of the late Diane Wood Fox, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019.
Born in Elkin, NC, a son of the late Dr. Noah Darlan Fox and the late Marjorie Sale Fox, Mr. Fox was a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and retired from the Hometown Newspaper of Spartanburg. He was a member of NewSpring Church where he was active and involved with the college students of the church. He had a God given talent of painting and writing Christian poetry. He was a US Army Reserve Veteran.
Surviving are two sons, Eric Morris Fox (Heather) of Snellville, GA, and David Nathaniel Fox (Emily) of Fairview, TN; a daughter, Holly Fox Getchell (Michael) of Watkinsville, GA; a brother, Kent Fox of NC; and four grandchildren, Jordan Fox, Olivia Fox, David Getchell and Alicia Karich. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Fox was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Robert D. Fox.
The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date, at Forsyth Memorial Park, Winston-Salem, NC.
Family members are at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Donald to the Pickens County Humane Society, P.O. Box 83, Liberty, SC 29657.
