Donald M. Gambrell, 74, husband of Dale Houston Gambrell, passed away February 9, 2021 at Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Home.
Born in Donalds, SC he was the son of the late Marvin and Sarah "Doll" Gambrell. Don proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he began a career with the South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation and retired after 25 years of service. He loved to play golf and watch Clemson football. He was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather who was loved by everyone and he will be greatly missed.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 54 years, are his children, Michele Hanna and her husband, Lonnie, of Bocas del Toro, Panama; and Coby Gambrell and his wife April, of Easley; a brother, Jerry Gambrell; a sister, Brenda Wilson; five grandchildren, Brett Powell, Mary Shaluly, Tyler Durham, Houston Gambrell and Banks Gambrell; and one great grandson, Caleb Powell.
Don was predeceased by his parents, his son, Tyler Gambrell and two brothers, Truman Gambrell and Lamar Gambrell.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
Friends are invited to the home of Coby Gambrell, 102 Players Drive, Easley, SC 29642 following the service in place of a formal visitation.
