Donald R. MonnSalem, SC Donald Robert Monn, 71, of 113 Still Water Bay Drive, husband of Brenda Lighty Monn, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.Born in Waynesboro, PA, he was a son of the late Adam McKinley and Mildred Beard Kipe Monn.   He was a graduate of Shippensburg University and earned his MS degree from University of Tennessee.  He retired after 39 years with the Department of Defense from the Naval Surface Warfare Center.  He was a life member of the Fredricksburg Lodge #4, a present member of the Seneca Lodge #185 and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of Greenville, SC.  Donald was a member of University Lutheran Church in Clemson, SC.Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Stephanie Monn Rogers (Steve) of Madison, AL; son, Gregory S. Monn (Kathleen) of Simpsonville, SC; fraternal twin brother, Ronald D. Monn of Greencastle, PA; sisters, J. Elaine Monn of Waynesboro, PA and M. Josephine Grove of Lietersburg, MD; and grandchildren, Hunter K. Rogers, Kaitlyn N. Rogers, Meaghan K. Rogers, Adam R. Monn, Jacob M. Monn and Ryan P. Monn.In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Ernie Monn; and sister, K. Rosalind Wishard.Funeral services will be 11 AM, Saturday at University Lutheran Church with Rev. Chris Heavner officiating.  A private committal service will be held at Oconee Memorial Park, Walhalla, SC.The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:15 Friday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to University Lutheran Church, 111 Sloan Street, Clemson, SC 29631.Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or at the funeral home.
