Donald Charles Orr, 48, of Powdersville, husband of Rita Arledge Orr, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Orr was born in Greenville Co., a son of the late Charles Albert and Pauline Wykle/Hall Orr. He was a fireman for Powdersville Fire District since he was 14 years old. He also worked for Williamston EMS and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two step-sons, Timothy and Christopher Hall; a step-daughter, Paula McCarley; a brother, Henry Tamadge (Buddy) Orr; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Orr was predeceased by two step- brothers, Robert Eugene and William Thomas Hall.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Siloam Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the church, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Kidney Foundation, 508 Hampton St., Suite 200, Columbia, SC 29201-2765.
