Donald Albert Thomas, 86, of McDaniel Greene, husband of Louise Boardman Thomas, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born July 9, 1928 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he was the son of the late Warrner and Elsie Dietz Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a US Coast Guard veteran and retired from the city of Greenville at the age of 80. He was a loving and caring husband, father and he adored his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of forty-seven years, he is survived by his children, Tracy Thomas, Roxann Weldon (Rock), Nan Kennedy and Kevin Hinkley (Linda); grandchildren, Anna Winecoff (Jason), Sumner Weldon, Caroline Weldon, Eric Hinkley (Amy), Michelle Hinkley, Chapin Kennedy (Catherine), Jayde Kennedy and Jon West Kennedy.
Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2015 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
