Donald Whitmire

Donald Thomas Whitmire, 82, husband of the late, Carolyn Pace Whitmire, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Laurels in the Village at Carolina Place in Pineville, NC.

Mr. Whitmire was born in Pickens County and was a son of the late, Walter Silas and Clovie Stewart Whitmire. He was purchasing manager at Corning Glass Company, a fifty year Mason, a veteran of the U. S. army and a member of Georges Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son, Stewart Whimire and his wife, Catherine of Charlotte; one brother, Furman Whitmire of Pickens; two grandchildren, Carter and Calvin Whitmire.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Leigh Ann Whitmire; a brother, John Henry Whitmire; and a sister, Virginia Carter.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, July 28, 2017 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, and the family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be private.
