Donald Allen "Duck" Wilson, 80, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, June 11, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Patsy Ramey Wilson.
Born in Central, SC, he was a son of the late Guy and Christine Gillespie Wilson. He was a 1955 graduate of Pendleton High School, served in the SC Army National Guard and was owner of Wilson's Paint & Carpet Store in Pendleton before working for over 20 years for White Jones in Anderson, SC.
He was a lifelong member of Bishop Branch Baptist Church in Central where he served as deacon and sang in the choir during his lifetime at the church. He was devoted to his family and church and will be missed by all.
Surviving are sons, Perry (Suzanne) Wilson of Baker, FL and Tim (Trudy Hyder) Wilson of Anderson, SC; daughter Kathy (Tom) Phinney of Pendleton, SC; sister, Hilda Hix of Lyman, SC; grandchildren, Katie Fontaine, Kristin, Kerianne, and Kassidy Wilson; Brandon and Bailey Phinney; Hayley, Nicholas and Lauren Rinke; and a great granddaughter, Grace Sympson.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by brothers, Jim Wilson, Garrison Wilson and John D. Wilson; and sister, Mary Doris Craig.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Bishop Branch Baptist Church with entombment to follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
