Doris Whitlock Smith, 91, passed away peacefully July 17, 2018, in Miami, FL.

She was a native of Easley, SC and was preceded in death by husband, George Dewey Smith, three brothers, Ralph, James, and Roy Whitlock; one sister, Janice Murrell. She is survived by daughter Annita (Bernard) Lewis; son Byron (Brenda) Smith; granddaughters, Ashlee (Philip) Casarino, Tracee Smith, and Rebekah (Stephen) Duncan; grandson, George (Melissa) Lewis; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Doris was a long-time member of South Miami First Baptist Church, then of Fellowship Church of Miami. She logged more than 3,000 volunteer hours at the Miami Veterans Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 28, 2018 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, 305 West Main Street, Easley, SC 29640.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Family members are at their respective homes.

Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Smith to the Shriner's Hospital, or to the VA Hospital.
