Dorothy Anne Rogers "Dot" Boone passed away in Greenville, SC on April 8, 2013. She was born in Redmond, Oregon the daughter of Ray M. and Gwendolyn Darbee Rogers. She attended the University of Oregon in Eugene where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. In the summer of 1943, she met a young soldier in the Army Air Corp at a USO Club - Merritt Anderson "Dan" Boone, who would become the love of her life. She and Dan were married in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1944. While in Utah she attended the University of Utah. During their time together, Dot and Dan traveled the world over living in or visiting 39 foreign countries on five continents, but they always came back to Clemson, SC where they made their home. Dot worked for the United States Department of Agriculture-Cotton Division at Clemson University before she retired. Dot was a member of the Clemson University Woman's Club, the Clemson Garden Club and several bridge clubs. She was often said to be a "fun" bridge player by her friends.

Surviving are a brother, Donald Darbee Rogers of Redmond, Oregon; her two sons, Donald Thomas "Mike" Boone and wife, Shirley, of Rock Hill, SC and Dr. William Rogers "Bill" Boone and wife, Edna, of Simpsonville, SC; six grandchildren, Susan Boone-Jones (Carlton), Joseph Allen Gambrell, Bonnie Boone Jennings (Blair), William Russell Boone, Becky Jane Boone, and Michael Stephen Gambrell; eight great grandchildren, Corey Miles Duncan (Britany), Danielle Taylor Wills, Stephen Joseph Anderson Wills, Caitlyn Bailey Jennings, Natalie Darbee Jennings, Zachery Taylor Jennings, Ella Ruth Gambrell, and Jaxson Boone Gambrell; and one great-great grandchild, Rylan Myles Duncan.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM, Thursday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.

A private interment will precede the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680; or to the charity of one's choice.
