Dorothy Cauthen Carlisle, 83, widow of Joseph Allen Carlisle, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Mountain Home Health & Rehab Center in Hendersonville, NC. She was born in Anderson County and was the daughter of the late Coke Smith and Maggie Rae Cauthen. She retired from Bell South and for many years was an active member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Clemson.
She is survived by a sister, Barbara Cauthen Ederer of Florida, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Cauthen of Clemson and three nieces and a nephew and two great nieces and three great nephews. She was predeceased by brothers: Coke Smith Cauthen, Jr. and John Fletcher Cauthen and a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Price Cauthen.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central at 2pm Thursday, February 15, 2007. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 193 Old Greenville Highway, Clemson SC 29631 or to the charity of one's choice.
