Dorothy Bennett Carter, widow of the late Malcolm Wilburn Carter, died peacefully on December 16, 2014; one day past her 97th birthday.

Born in LaGrange, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Grady and Kate Bennett. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family

She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley, South Carolina, and a former member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church where she served as a choir member and as President of the WMU.

Surviving are her daughter, Terry Carter Morgan, and her grandchildren, Jerry Morgan and wife, Candie, Tammy Tate and husband, Terry, Chris Morgan and wife, Kathy, Dawn Carter, Daniel Carter and wife, Carroll, Matthew Morgan and wife, Joy, 6 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Runyan Wilberschied.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Carter Johnson and a son, Daniel R. Carter.

Services will be held at Robinson's Funeral Home, Powdersville Rd, Easley, on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 11 am, with visitation to follow service.
