Dorothy Faye Leach Cooley, 90, wife of the late Grady Welman Cooley, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Carl Morgan Leach and Beulah Nelson Leach.

Mrs. Cooley was a graduate of Mars Hill College. She was instrumental in starting the preschool and then Child Development Center at Geer Memorial Baptist Church where she later became the director. She worked there for 30 plus years until her retirement. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, specifically following the Atlanta Braves. She was close to her neighbors, family, and friends.

Surviving are her children, Karen Estridge (Ed) of Charlotte, NC and Daryl Cooley (Lynn) of Pickens; grandchildren, Madison Cooley and Chris Estridge (Madeleine).

Mrs. Cooley was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by seven sisters and four brothers.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 11:50 AM at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
