Dorothy M. Garrison

Dorothy McKissock Garrison, 90, of # 2 Birch Place, wife of Dr. Olen B. Garrison, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at her residence.

Born in Rochester, NY, Mrs. Garrison was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Holt and David McKissock. She was a graduate of Cornell University. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher of First Baptist Church of Clemson. In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Garrison had many interests including gardening, sewing, traveling, painting and nature.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Dr. Olen B. Garrison, are three daughters, Doralynn G. (Dody) Anderson and her husband Robert of Chattanooga, TN, Margaret Ann G. (Peggy) Kirby and her husband William of Greenville and Jean Faye G. Swanson and her husband Kirk of Atlanta; a brother, George McKissock of Tallahassee, FL; a sister, Sara Helen Vick of Albion, NY; grandchildren, Amie Anderson Glenn, Howard Bishop Anderson, William Dee Kirby, Bryan Garrison Kirby, Julia Faye Swanson, Thomas Mark Swanson and John Warren Swanson; great-grandchildren, Kathleen Grayson Glenn, Emma Anderson Glenn and William Daniel Kirby.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garrison was predeceased by a brother, David McKissock.

Graveside services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday at Cemetery Hill with Rev. Drs. Todd Wilson and Robert B. Whaley officiating. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or to First Baptist Church of Clemson, 397 College Ave, Clemson, SC 29631.
